There’s a company, they’re called GTX Corp. They’ve got this wonderful idea to make shoes with GPS built-in to help keep track of people with dementia and alzheimer’s. Cool, great idea, but it just seems a tad flawed. Why? How do you insure that the patient, or sick will even remember to put on shoes or that particular pair of shoes especially since they suffer from a disease that impedes upon their memory? Shit, just give them a Verizon or AT&T phone with that kid tracker service and you’ll accomplish the same thing. They plan on selling the GPS shoe next Spring for $200-$300 with a monitoring fee of $18/month.

TomTom GPS App Points The Way Towards An iPhone Near You blog
The TomTom North American “turn by turn” GPS navigation app is now available in the US App Store for $99.99. There are currently 12 reviews up and the biggest complaint so far is that the app does not feature spoken street names. For that much money it should say street names using Christopher Walken’s voice god dammit! At any rate, the app uses a feature called “IQ Routes” which bases its directions off of the time of day and traffic conditions. iPhone touch controls are intact and let you pinch, stretch, and double tap all you like. Other implementations include the usage of your contact list to find locations as well as being able to use the phone while the app is still running. The app requires the 3.0 update and covers 99.9% of North America. This includes Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. I really don’t see how this is worth the money.
An $80 GPS Watch That Will Help You Back To Your Car And Geo Tag Your Photos blog
If the prospect of spending over $300 on a GPS watch doesn’t appeal to you, but you’d still like some of that satellite tracking goodness on your wrist, then you might wanna have a look at Chinavasion’s GPS Watch. While you can’t punch in a desired location and view yourself on a map it does allow you to preset ‘points of interest’ as well as ’save a location’ so you can retrace your steps to find your parking spot.
The face of the watch features a variety of LEDs that provide you with both the direction of travel needed and proximity to find your desired location. Geo tagging photos is also possible, which presumably comes by way of pushing a specific button that logs the time and location that can be later synced up with your camera’s time stamp when everything is connected to a computer. Lastly, the watch can keep tabs on your travels by recording position, speed, and altitude and can be viewed on Google maps. It’ll get 21 hours on a single battery charge, which is 1 hour better than Garmin’s most recent offering.
Pre-order Pages Show Up For Unannounced Magellan Roadmate 1700 GPS blog
Based on numerous retailer’s pre-order pages, Magellan is set to introduce a 7-inch touchscreen GPS called the RoadMate 1700. Spec wise it’s a bit light, lacking any sort of MP3 or video support and its 1 hour battery life surely doesn’t make it the most portable of GPSes (at this size I don’t think any one will be slipping it in to a pocket, though). What it does boast is 6 million POIs, a 1.5cm thick body, text to speech and the ability to store up to 250 waypoints. Best Buy currently lists its arrival date as “coming soon” but you can pre-order it now for $299.99.
Amber Alert GPS 2G Keeps Tabs On Your Tike blog
By now well aware of the perils of losing a child thanks to shows such as Nancy Grace. Well, hopefully no more will that tail make headlines thanks to the Amber Alert GPS 2G.
It’s a small GPS infused tracker that you attach to your child and simply by sending the text message “WHERE” to the device will provide the child’s location. Parents can even set it to show a ‘bread crumb’ of their child’s movement as well as set a safety zone, voice monitoring, temperature alert, destination reached notification and the ability to monitor the speed of a vehicle the child is riding in. If the child finds themselves in an unsavory situation they can hit a special button to alert their parents.
Much like the NuM8 that we saw this year – they offer a comparable feature set but in a watch format – the Amber Alert GPS 2G requires a $10/month subscription and an initial investment of $379.99.
The Blessings of God’s Assurance blog
It is through the gift of Christ that we receive every blessing. Through that gift there comes to us day by day the unfailing flow of Jehovah’s goodness. Every flower, with its delicate tints and sweet fragrance, is given for our enjoyment through that one Gift. The sun and moon were made by Him; there is not a star that beautifies the heavens which He did not make. There is not an article of food upon our tables that He has not provided for our sustenance. The superscription of Christ is upon it all. Everything is supplied to man through the one unspeakable Gift, the only-begotten Son of God.
Steps to Christ for a Sanctified Life blog
Thousands of Christian books today present only one side of God’s grace. Many people who give their hearts to the Lord are as little babes just beginning to walk—so excited at that first step. But unlike the baby who falls and gets up to try and try again until he or she walks without falling, many Christians are frustrated and discouraged at the failings of their walk with God and do not continue to more forward.
Now you will be able to put together the pieces of your puzzled life and have peace in your heart. When you search for the path that leads to Jesus and find Him, you won’t have to get discouraged. This book will lead you in a direction to discover the secrets to successful Christian living and experience true Christian maturity.
Prophecy’s Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
Probably no topic has cause more fiery debate among evangelical churches and atheistic skeptics in recent years than the relationship between church and state.
One side claims that the two should be divided by a wall of separation, while the other believes Christians and government should become partners in the battle against immorality. But who is right . . . who is going to win . . . and what does this debate mean for your faith today?
Pastor Stephen Bohr provides in-depth insight into this question through the powerful lens of Bible prophecy, detailing the major playersnow already active in the worldwho will come to the battle in the coming crises of good versus evil.
Do you ever wonder how Bible prophecy could possibly come true with the rising tide of secularism in the world? Will the end come by religious catastrophe as Revelation foretells?
Passion of Love blog
It began quietly in a garden called Gethsemane and culminated violently on a hill called Calvary—a brief moment in time that forever changed the world. But nothing you’ll see or hear can compare to the gospel truth. Only Bible will ever fill you with hope or inspire you more than this book.
Indeed, no picture, or film, or sound will match the breathtaking detail and power of this beautiful volume from the final chapters of the best-selling masterpiece The Desire of Ages, a vibrant and biblically faithful commentary detailing the last hours of Jesus Christ’s life.
This gripping and unique narrative from one of Christianity’s most-published writers goes beyond the physical suffering and explores the deeper spiritual revelation of love’s most poignant act. You’ll understand more about the intricacies of Jesus’ suffering, but you will also learn of a greater suffering that no insult, no lash, and no nail could ever inflict.
If you want to know the true meaning of the passion of Jesus Christ,
Living the Life blog
When Jesus described the life of faith, He made it so real that when He had finished, His listeners knew how to live that life. He made faith and other concepts real to His hearers by comparing them with familiar objects and situations. Instead of describing what faith is, He used stories to show what faith is like by using word pictures called parables.
As you read these truth-inspired words, the parables of the Master Teacher will take on new meaning, especially when you realize they apply to you.
Living the Life of the Lifegiver makes available, combined in one book, the most compelling book ever written on Christ’s parables and the most insightful book ever published on His Sermon on the Mount.
